Midwifery and Herbs share an ancient history.  Katia has chosen to continue that history in her midwifery practice and has several herbal products available.  Katia has been doing herbs since the third grade with her first written report complete with references!  She has continued to research, investigate and interview mentors, midwives and herbalist to improve her herbal skills.  Currently, she is studying  under her mentor, Clinical Herbalist and RN, Deborah Brandt (From the Ground Up).  Katia teaches the herb and homeopathic classes at Maternidad La Luz and small, short-term classes in Las Cruces.

In February, 2009, Katia began a new business venture connected to All Natural Birth for the herb part of the business.  NEW MEXICO HERBS, after an appropriate gestation and an extraordinarily long labor, was born.  Feel free to peruse the products below and contact Katia to order anything or if you have any questions. 

Katia sells her herbal products at the Las Cruces Farmer's Market on Saturdays.  On Sundays she can be found at Mercado in the Mesilla Plaza.   In addition to the products below, Katia carries about 70 loose leaf herbs and about 80 tinctures and glycerites.

CHILDREN'S REMEDIES* All Natural Birth has several teas, formulas and single herbal remedies appropriate   for children.  Made with high quality, organically grown or wildcrafted herbs.  All tinctures are $9.00 and teas are $4.00/oz.

Please check with your pediatrician or child’s care provider before starting any herbs for your children. 

Children’s Teas. Herbal teas for kids include Children's Calma Té, Sleepy Time Tea, Tummy Tea, Fever Tea, Red Tea (hibiscus and rosehips), and Peter Rabbit Chamomile. 

Children's Formulas.  Children's tinctures are made with glycerite and are non-alcoholic. Formulas for children include Kids Defense Glycerite (immune boost and infection fighting), Children’s Respiratory Glycerite, Cough Calmer Glycerite, Fever Remedy, Slippery Ginger (sore throat remedy), Kids Allergy Relief Glycerite, Kid Kalm Glycerite, Colic Remedy Glycerite.

Other Children Remedies include Ear Oil, Corn Lady Powder and Mama-Baby Salve.

Women's Herbal Teas* offered include Pregnancy Tea, Mama’s Milk, Hibiscus Hypertension Tea, and Iron Booster Tea.

Women's Formulas*  Inshallah Tincture (miscarriage prevention), Stop Cramps, Pregnancy Immune Boost and Pregnancy Tonic (preparation used in last 4-6 weeks).  Postpartum Tinctures include Katia’s Afterease Tincture, Mellow Ma-Ma-Ma and Mastitis Formula.

Other Remedies* for Women include Velvet Bottom Sitz Bath (postpartum sitz), A-hem Sitz Bath (for hemorrhoid relief), Pregnancy Massage Oil, Corn Lady Powder (all purpose anti-microbial powder) and Mama-Baby Salve.

Midwives Only Tinctures.  Katia also has herbal formulas for use by midwives during the birth process.  These formulas are for midwives, and not sold to individuals.
