Katia LeMone's midwifery service strives to give personal one-on-one care to the women she serves. She takes time to get to know her clients as women and families who are having a baby and sees her role as that of facilitator and advocate.
As a midwife, Katia observes that pregnancy and birth is an analogy for everything around us. Most of life can be described in terms of the birth process. All things seem to come in stages, especially relationships. A Swahili saying, "Maisha ni Safari" states that life is a journey. A relationship for a birth at home is an organic journey that takes time and care.
Katia only accepts a few clients every year ensuring a relationship that is built on trust and the Midwifery Model of Care. This model views pregnancy and birth as a normal physiological process.
