Mothers Naturally
http://www.mothersnaturally.org/
This is THE site. This is a site devoted to natural childbirth, midwifery, homebirth and moms. You will love this site. This is the site you can send to all your friends so they can understand what midwives and midwifery care is all about. Be sure to take the time to explore all the options on this site -- there are some real gems here!
Juice Plus Whole Food Nutrition
http://www.juiceplus.com/+kl87883
One of the things I feel very strongly about is good nutrition during pregnancy. It is the one thing you can do to make a difference once you are already pregnant. Please investigate Juice Plus for yourself at the above website and feel free to ask me any questions. I highly recommend this as a supplement during pregnancy, because I believe it makes a difference.
My Pyramid
http://www.mypyramid.gov/
My Pyramid is THE government nutrition site. It is jam packed with information on nutrition, weight control, vegetarianism, physical activity, pregnancy and breastfeeding. Of particular interest is the Pregnancy and Breastfeeding section. Under My Pyramid for Moms, you enter your age, due date, height, pre-pregnancy weight and physical activity. It then gives you, the daily recommended amounts of grains, vegetables, fruits, milk and meat and beans you need during EACH TRIMESTER. I was very happy to see that they recognized that pregnancy needs change during each trimester. I still recommend more protein during pregnancy. However, the site is well worth your time and may help with some guidelines -- and is certainly a good jumping off place for exploring the most important topic of pregnancy.
Mothering http://www.mothering.com
This is the website for Mothering magazine. Good info about homebirthing, midwives, babywearing, cosleeping, breastfeeeding, delayed vax... all that stuff... it also has discussion boards and really good articles! This has been a favorite magazine of mine for years -- I highly recommend you get your hands on a recent copy and explore it for yourself.
Fit Pregnancy
http://www.fitpregnancy.com/
This is Fit Pregnancy magazine's website... it also shows you your body and your baby's development during your different weeks of pregnancy and it also has a lot of info on nutrition, exercise and current news articles for pregnant ladies...and it has a tool for you to input and keep track of all the food you eat and nutrients you are getting!
http://contractionmaster.com/
I laugh everytime I click on this. This site is simply a time clock. It is a very useful time clock as by simply hitting your space bar you can record the start time and the end time of your contractions and it will then display your duration (how long your contractions lasted) and your frequency (how often your contractions are occurring). A very useful thing to know during early labor. This site makes it easy and even somewhat fun.
La Leche League http://www.lllelpaso.org
http://www.lllusa.org/web/LasCrucesNM.html LLL is a fantastic resource and community for pregnant and breastfeeding mothers. If you have not taken the series of four free classes, call today! If you want the name and number of a La Leche League Leader in Las Cruces who has worked with Katia's clients, please contact Katia and she will get you connected.
http://preg.fertilityfriend.com
